how did you learn to speak spanish?
im mexican american, my parents taught me spanish before they taught me english, so it was my first language. long story short, i no longer speak spanish, or at least i’m no longer fluent in spanish. i didnt use it so i lost it. i’m very proud of my family heritage and i would like to re-learn the language. what system did you use to learn spanish?

Have take Spanish in school for five years.
And I lost my native language as well. Urgh >:(

find a genre of spanish music that you like and if you rememeber the basics of the spanish language, you will eventually learn to speak it well.

I had my mom teach me (she lived in Venezuela as a kid) but she did so discretely because when I would talk to both my parents, it was in french exclusively. I learned much more spanish travelling throughout Mexico and pretending not to know english, because very few people there know any french.
